Took my Mustang II to the range for the first time and I am a little disappointed…

Loads were 90gr JHP and 105gr LSWC. Both loads great in my Astra Constable at 25 yards but the Colt could only do 5 1/2" for the JHP and 6 1/2" for the LSWC.

Equally disturbing was that both loads print 11 1/2 to 12" above the point of aim!

In the pictures, I am aiming at the 6 O'clock position of the lower target.

Experience indicates that changing ammo or replacing a spring is not going to make any difference. My dilemma is to clean it and sell it or try to fix it up. My goal would be 4" or less groups at 25 yards combined with reliability for occasional CCW use.

Can anyone suggest home gunsmithing tips or a Pro that would be able to do this work?

A good choice is Colt themselves.

They can fix the targeting issue, and can tune it for better accuracy.
Fixing the sights issue will likely be FREE.
Tuning it will probably cost, BUT, you never know, it might be free too since I think Colt's standards for accuracy was higher than you're getting.

If you send it in, send some test targets.  Shoot a few GOOD targets with the sights aligned on the center, not at the 6:00 hold.  This is to show just how high it's shooting.
