Is there any reason that I should change out the nylon MSH and trigger on my 1911 for metal parts?

Not unless you want metal....  kinda personal preference.  The benefit to nylon is a lighter gun, but most guys refrain from having plastic on their 1911.  I think you'll like the look and feel of metal parts, and with a nice trigger might actually shoot better.  This will give you an opportunity to pick a trigger that's the right length for your hand......and get one with an overtravel screw.

Not really.  I actually use the nylon MSH on one of my Commanders, and the nylon trigger is nice because it's 1) light, 2) easily filed down to your desired size and shape, and 3) lacks an overtravel hole.

Is the nylon trigger all nylon or is the trigger bow metal?

Just the pad is nylon, the bow is still metal.
