Tried to do a search on the Colt Officers Model.

Question. Is $500.00 a good price for a blue Colt Officers Model with little wear?

Finally got around to taking some pics.  I have lots of modifications and new grips on my wish list.

If you're not talking a 1991 Compact, it's a pretty good price.  Most of the MKIV blued models average around $550 - $600 used.

As hobbs said it would be a fair price for an Officers ACP as long as it's not the 1991 model.

I picked this one up for $500 out the door a while back

now a work in progress ....................................

It's the MKIV blue model.  I plan on having a black teflon finish put on by Birdsong, get Novak sights and let a local .45 smith give it a once over.  Then it will be my carry gun.

By the way......................you did a great job with yours!!

It the barrel 3" or 3 1/2" long?  Don't know where to look to find the old specs.

Good.  I was getting worried that is was the same size as the defender.   I saw them years ago but couldn't remember..   Thanks.

I'll be picking it up this evening.  I'll post some pics.   I'm going to send it to Birdsong for a Black Teflon finish, have a local gunsmith mill and put Novack low mount tridium sights, trigger work and maybe a beaver tail grip safety.   I don't want to know what I'll have invested in it when I get finished.

Part 306A; replaces the Officers ACP spring plug which is held captive by a little metal piece which mates with a recess milled in the slide. This part has been known to fail/shear off, completely disabling the pistol. This kit is a mod I had added  to my current Officers ACP.

I also had my first Officers ACP launch its front sight. Single tenon stake w/ high slide velocity is  not a good thing A Novaks dovetailed front sight is a very good idea. My second (and current) Officers ACP has dual crimped Millet sights, which are OK.

I do indeed like the Officers Model, but they do have quirks out of the box to be aware of.

Up dated with pics.

I am also buying a Colt Commander slide to put on my officers frame.  So I guess that means I have another project and a longer wish list.  Life is good!
