So I was at a local show today, and came across a vendor with a used Colt Pocket 9 for sale.

It seemed to be in fairly good condition, although it looked as if it had some custom work done.

The top of the slide had no sights. Front or rear. There wasn't even a marking/notch/place on the top of the slide showing where sights would have been installed. The top of the slide was completely smooth. Nose to rear.

Instead of sights on the top of the slide, the trigger hammer "well" (no idea what it's called) where the hammer contacts the firing pin and rests in the slide had a cut-out/notch along the top about 1/2"long x 1/4" wide x 1/8" deep.

In the center of this cut-out towards the nose was a sight dot, along with 2 sight dots on either side of this notch at the rear.

You'll have to excuse the kiddie finger painting here, but this is the best way I can show what I'm talking about. (view from the rear of the handgun)

The vendor advised this was custom worked performed by a local individual, but I was curious to see if there's validity to that statement. (stated this individual had done this work to several Pocket 9's)

Has anyone ever seen this configuration, or is this truly something unique?

Sounds like you're describing the "trench" type sight the Colt New Agent has.

Sort of. I just did a quick search for what your talking about, and watched a vid or two.

From what I could see that trench sight is along the entire length of the slide.

This pocket 9's cut-out wasn't that long on the top of the slide. It only extended towards the nose of the slide from the hammer about 1/2", and is wider than the trench sight
