what's the consensus on the Colt Wiley Clapp govt model ?
A local shop has one and it looks pretty nice. |

I purchased mine from a member here, unfired. I shot it and it had random ejections. I replaced the firing pin stop since the original was very loose. Hopefully, that will fix the brass to the face, etc. I replaced the grip safety since it was loose and had machining marks and didn't follow the lines of the frame neatly. Lastly, I replaced the Novak sights and grips to make it a shooter. Pics to follow after I get new grip screws. For the money, I would have bought another Dan Wesson, but I wanted Colt for my birthday.

Did Colt hard chrome the frame?
I really like the two tone and would buy a Combat Elite IF Colt offered it as a 70 series I hope Colt offers some more 70 series for 2016 but I doubt it given their financial woes If not I am picking up the new SA MC Operator
