I have had one for a few years. The only issue I have had is the rear sight was not screwed down from the factory.
I run 99% handloads (200 grain ball and SWC) and a few test runs with Win Ranger. It has had no issues. Recoil is a tiny bit stouter than with a 5" steel version but I do not notice it unless I think about it. If you use a mag without a captured follower, it may ding the feedramp (under where the bullet hits it) but it should not impact function. I have run Wilson and Tripp in mine with zero issues. I will say that every edge on the gun is sharp. The front serrations will eat a leather holster. |

Anyone else have experience with the XSE? |
| I have one and love it for a carry weapon. Recoil is not bad (my wife shoots it like a champ). I have swapped out all of the internals for Wilson Combat Bullet Proof parts with the exception of the grip safety which is an Ed Brown and the hammer that is a Cylinder and Slide. I did find it EXTREMLY sharp before I had it dehorned. I also swapped the sights out for Novak's with tritium. |

Ah, SA custom shop. I wonder what wait times are currently like. thanks for the suggestion! Cosmetic mostly. I had to send it back though. the thumb safety was gouging the frame. the sharp edges are really bad and I don't care for the finish on the frame. I've also noticed that some of the Wilson mags fit really tight. I think the trigger assembly might need some tweaking. Muzzle flip is very noticeable compared to my Steel framed guns. it does carry well though. For the price, I think I would have been happier with a springfield champion operator. |

The Commander has a FLGR, do Commanders use the same size plug and guide as a Government model? I will switch it out if I buy one. No, You will need a Commander plug and guide. I did the same to mine as well, But I carry an "Enhanced" Model from the early '90s now. http://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo96/medic15al/003-2_zpscbabc612.jpg |
