Have you thought about trying a heavier spring with hotter ammunition? It will give you the pressure needed, make the comp work better, and allow you to use a recoil spring that actually functions properly. I heard from Carver over the weekend (Bobbie is a great guy BTW). Since I only shoot factory loads, I'm going to bump up to a 15 lb spring. I'll be sure to comment after I've had a chance to try it. Since the slide will lock back after the last round, it's obvious the 13 lb spring isn't too light. |

The gun will lock back with a spring that is too light, it won't lock back if it is significantly too heavy. Not sure if you just mixed words there. I had a similar failure with some bulk Georgia Arms remans in my MP45, turned out the case was dragging on the sharp transition from ramp to chamber. I lightly broke the edge with a fine stone and haven't had an issue since. |
