I am looking at buying a custom combat in the 40 caliber from cdnn for 640.. this will mainly be used for ccw purposes. i have a usp tactical in 45 but don't feel like trying to conceal a tank. what are your opinions on this gun for carry purposes? if you don't like it, what do you reccomend? this will be my first carry weapon.

My two carry weapons are a sig 226 9mm and a uspc .357 sig.  both are great weapons, however the compact is substantially easier to conceal than the 226 is.  (the 226 is actually a little smaller than my fullsize usp45).

It is true that most people are oblivious to printing, so you can take that into consideration.  As far as comfort (both physical and mental) give me a compact anyday of the week.

i carry both weapons in a CTAC.  I'm 5'9" and 150 lbs- not a big guy, but with the right holster, belt, and shirt you can hide just about anything.

well i'm 5'11" and weigh about 220.. i may try to carry my usp tactical once to see what it's like, but i'll probably end up getting the custom combat.

Get a compact, they're more comfortable.

Most sheeple won't notice a fullsize, but I prefer that NOBODY notice me printing, and LEOs do look for printing.

yup, LEOs and thugs notice.

the people that you don't care if they notice don't, the people you don't want to notice will.

the compact will definitely be more comfortable to carry day-to-day.

yea the LEO's will defiantly let you know, and might even  draw their own weapon on you and make you go threw the whole song and dance and if you are printing in some stores and they see it they will ask you to leave and probably call the cops on you anyway's, they don't know who you are or what your intentions are ,  its best not to get caught at all so printing ( showing) is just a no go in my book not worth being hassled go to a smaller hand gun if you need to, a hit with a 22 is better than a miss with a magnum

My CCW is a Kahr.  We don't have a permit law, so even more important to not print

I really really really wish I had the money to pick up one of those right now.
For carry, I use a USPc .40 with a CompTac CTAC.  I finally found the right setting for the holster and it's now very comfortable.  My USP is all black and I'd love to get one of those tan frame/black slide ones.  Are the Novak sights on those tritium, anyone know?  Looks like the .45 sights are fiber optic.

the HK P2000 is a nicer CCW piece imo; the tac is kinda big and tougher to conceal vs the compacts
