From the NRA:

The U.S. Senate is now considering the National Defense Authorization Act (S. 1390).  As a part of the consideration of that legislation, Senators John Thune (R-SD) and David Vitter (R-LA) will offer an amendment this week  to provide for interstate recognition of Right-to-Carry permits.  There is a very high likelihood of a Senate floor vote on this important and timely pro-gun reform between now and Wednesday.

Not to mention before the Feds overstep their authority to tell the States they have to recognize carry permits they should get rid of their offensive "sporting clause" and reinforce that the States have no right to restrict the bearing of arms in the first place.

That's great if it's stipulating that all States have to recognize carry permits from all other States (like drivers licenses), but I must say, I'm wary of the Feds sticking there noses into these matters.  The 10th Amendment has been ignored so many times.........................................

And I see it causing problems, as standards from State to State seem to vary widely, much more so than standards for drivers licenses, as far as I'm aware.

I've called, I've wrote and I've spoken in person but the answer is the same.  "You just don't understand."   I understand perfectly come Nov. 10.
