So can a new style Ruger Vaquero be converted to .45 ACP with a cylinder, drop in?  Or will this require timing the specific cylinder to the gun?  Would the new model BH in .357/.38 be the same with a 9mm cylinder?  I notice Numrich has them in 9 for 75 bucks.  Thoughts?

I jnow the 454 casull would 45  colt and if you wanted a 45 acp cylinder NAA want you to send the gun back for timing but they are a well make piece  so timing may required  all of them  good thought  though if makes for a lot of fun

I think there was a thread on this on Singleactions.com last week.

Drop in is unlikely. It will mostly likely take some minor fitting at least. Ruger will do this pretty cheap......

They need to be timed.  I just bought the Ruger 357 and the 9mm together.  You can send thim in to be fitted pretty cheap if you already own the gun.
