Looks great! I wonder what they did to remedy the feeding issues. It had a slight case of "barrel bump" and the extractor was too short. Ah, so... typical Kimber, then.

I had an ill Kimber 10mm Eclipse Custom II that was regulated to safe queen status for several years. No matter what I tried, it just wouldn't run very well. I started to get back into 1911's this year, and began to rethink this Kimber. After seeing some of the references here and on other sights for Alchemy Custom, I contacted Rob to see if he wanted to take a look at the Kimber. I sent it in with a few basic requests. Get it working, replace the terrible factory sights, and bead blast the "Eclipse" black off the stainless. I also requested a new beavertail, and an EGW firing pin stop. Once Alchemy received the gun, they recommended an EGW beavertail and new extractor along with a tune up and action job. Here is what I got back: http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c341/Brauer/1911/ACKimber5.jpg http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c341/Brauer/1911/ACKimber1.jpg http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c341/Brauer/1911/ACKimber6.jpg http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c341/Brauer/1911/ACKimber4.jpg So far I've ran over 400 rounds through the gun since I've got it back. It has been 100% with factory ammo and my own quality reloads using good mags. I am currently using Wilson 47NX 10mm magazines. The ammo used has been a mix of Prvi 10mm, Winchester Silvertip, Hornady 200gr XTP and my reloads. I started out with Prvi 10mm and began to up the spring rates each range session. I had thought the Prvi was a decent power level 10mm from my earlier range trips but after shooting "real 10mm ammo" the Prvi does feel weaker. Everything functioned 100% and the ejection patterns were very consistent. The Prvi didn't eject quite as far as the other 10mm ammo, but had no issues cycling the slide. I am currently using a 20lb recoil and 25lb mainspring and will probably keep it there for now. The Heinie sights are dead on, and are a vast improvement over the vague 3-dot Kimber sights. I am extremely happy with the overall finish work on the gun, the new EGW beavertail safety and firing pin stop. Alchemy Custom did an awesome job getting this Kimber both looking and working great. She's no longer a safe queen and could turn into a daily CCW piece.
Hell yes. I like it. Glad to hear that it's working out for you now. That's way too nice a gun to never see anything outside the 4 walls of your safe. 10mm FTW! I use these alot, but I'll use them here anyway...
