I bought a Shield 9mm at the beginning of February. Since then, I've put about 400 rounds down the barrel with several FTEs. I called S&W and they sent me a shipping label to return the gun. I shipped it yesterday, and it will get there on Friday. Just curious as to the turnaround time. Anyone sent one back?

My brand new turd bodyguard was sent back last week and logged in Monday morning.   The CS rep told me maybe sometime next week it will get looked at.  I'm not thrilled.

Well ,no one is happy to have to send a firearm back to the factory
These reports of several weeks turnaround seems fair .

The thing to note is S&W has a pretty good reputation of fine CS on Warrantee work

This...I am more concerned that they fix the issue rather than just a quick turnaround time. This is the first time sending a gun back due to malfunctions, so I am hoping it's the last time as well.

My brand new "turd" bodyguard 380 came back last week from the warranty/service dept at S&W.  Same issues experienced as before it was serviced.  Luckily my LGS accepted it back for a full refund and will be sending it back to Smith.

Well, I agree on the turnaround time.  I sent in a new SD9 VE earlier this year which wouldn't cycle consistently.  They replaced the extractor, but it still doesn't work right.  Will start a thread on this issue, guess I'll be sending it back...
