I was thinking of clamping my G19 frame in a vise and going to town on it with a dremel and sandpaper to remove the finger nubbins and reduce the grip size. I was thinking of stippling it afterwards.

Anything I should know before attempting this project? I had some concerns about breaking into the backstrap channel, but then thought I could fill it with something if that happened. Is this a valid concern?

Sounds like you want a grip reduction too. Just go slow with a dremel, I'd avoid the backstrap area, its thin.

Wouldn't it be better to obtain a pistol that fits you better?

I only ask because this mod will reduce the value of your glock, and may weaken the grip.  I'm not saying its a horrible idea, just that once you do this the resale value plummets.

If you are cool with that, then go for it, but go slow and remember that you really can't put material back once its removed.

I didn't remove the finger grooves on my G23 but I knocked them down some, then stippled with a soldering iron. Go slow, maybe practice on some less expensive polymer, especially glass filled polymer. No real tricks to it. It's a good idea to tape off areas that you want to stay out of. If you carry the pistol, you'll want a bit less aggressive texture on the side that touches your body.

As long as you never plan to sell the Glock, have at it.  It's not for me, but it might be for you.

I already have an M&P 9mm for CCW, which fits me better than the Glock. The G19 is a backup/range toy. I don't plan on selling it. I have a few things I would like to do to the M&P, so I figured the Glock would be a good test bed.
