I did search but there wasn't much info in the thread that was there.

I've been looking for a new 1911 in the under 1100$ range. My top picks so far: Kimber Warrior. Springfield Operator, and a Dan Wesson.

From what I can read about the parts used etc, the Dan Wesson actually looks like the best, and the only one I've ever felt was as smooth as glass, more so than any other I've handled. Plus its the cheapest of the 3 with hand fitting so it says.

Can anyone attest for DW out of box reliability? Accuracy?

Thanks!

I recently owned a Dan Wesson Patriot. It was a great pistol and 100% reliable, accuracy was about 1"-2" at 25 yards. Now the C-BOB that I have had some reliability issues early on, but they seem to have worked themselves out. I only sold my Patriot because I got a smokin deal on a SW 1911 Performance Center gun.

I own two... a fullsize 1911 PM-1S and a CBOB... both we're extremely accurate, 100% reliable, and quality inside and out. I've been happy with the Kimber I own as well... but I dont think it "better" than the Dan Wesson's... similar in performance.

When it comes time to shoot at the range though, and impress buddies, I usually pull out the PM-1S... its a tack driver.
