Anyone have any thoughts on the .45 bobtail? I'm looking for something a little lighter for EDC. I've never owned a DW but I've heard good things.

I would consider the duty coat VBOB but the steel frame and price are both a bit too much. Then again, if I found a nice, used one, I'd consider it as well.

Any thoughts on the Guardian specifically?

Thanks

I have one.  It is a great gun, ramp is a little steep, I had a bit of an issue feeding 185 gr Aguila HP.  Feeds like a champ in my VBob.  Other than that, I had to buff the back of the slide stop were the detent hits it.  Since that, no problems.  Feels obviously lighter than the identical sized vbob.

Snappier and a bit less comfortable to shoot than the Vbob, but otherwise, excellent.

Step brother has one and it's awesome. Carrying a full size 1911 isn't hard at all but a bobtail commander is sweet.

Finally got to shoot his Guardian a couple weeks ago and it shoots great, I thought the bobtail would mess with how it recoils and shoots and it really doesn't

I want one.

I have a Vbob, and its probably my favorite for fitting in my hand.

I have both the guardian and the v bob . I like to shoot and carry the guardian the best . The recoil actually seems lighter than the vbob for some reason . I cannot say enough good about the guardian . I would encourage you to get one and enjoy . Works flawless and have somewhere around 5K through it ( maybe more ) .

I'm still looking. Did find a new VBOB for under $1800, though I may hold out for the Guardian if I can find one.

I read on another forum that DW has already sent out all of their 1911's for this year. I'll just have to keep an eye out for one.

Thanks for the replies.
