I know Dan Wesson makes a great 1911. The Valor by all or most here is one of those quality 1911 but the question is does the Guardian have the same quality as the Valor? I do know the Valor is steel and the Guardian alloy frame but as for the internals are they of the same quality. At some point a conversation was had on some forum that the two were not the same quality. I want to get a better understanding from one's who own and other 1911 guru's. Also could you give an idea of the price for the Guardian in your area. In St. Louis they are running just short of $1600.00.

A guardian is an aluminum frame and the Vbob is a forged steel frame. The sights and some of the externals are different, but internally I think Keith said they all use the same FCG.

I have a DW Guardian 45 and it is indeed a fine weapon and its my EDC gun.  I have 1500 rounds through it and has been very reliable the only problems I had were out of spec reloads.  It does have a ramped barrel which the steel frame DWs don't have.  It is only second to my Les Baer but only slightly.
