Guys I have a Kahr P9 that is my daily carry gun and I have been eyeing and wanting a 1911.
With the scarcity of 45 ammo this has made me slow down the purchase of a 45.
I was talking to a good friend and he has also slowed down the hunt for his 45.
Do others seem to be doing the same?
I may end up just buying another 9mm, but in a larger frame.

Any suggestions.

I would say that 9mm is harder to get just because it's a little cheaper. Buy the gun you want and have patience with the ammo. The ammo scare will slow down just like the mag and "assault weapon" craze did.

I too have wanted a .45, but due to ammo availability have been having second thoughts.  I have noticed, in my hunts for 9mm, that there always seems to 40 and/or 357 sig on the shelves at the walmarts.  So I've been considering a 40 instead.

ammo in general is hard to find.  especially plinking fodder.

if you want to "wait n see" then go ahead.

i have enough ammo for the guns i have and i also reload too.

i've been wanting a 1911 also but my enthusiasm hasn't been great about one considering the lack of 45 available. i'm sure it will slow down, but it's a matter of when...

If you always wanted a 1911, buy that, and carry the Khar until you can get the .45 ammo. Buying something else, you won't unltimatly be happy, and you waste your money on getting something less than what you really wanted.

It isn't like they have stopped making .45 acp, it just isn't easy to find *this minute*, at a good price.
