Looking into the ranger T 124 +p and 147gr. I have an XD 9mm in 3" and 4" and really don't want two different types of ammo so if both function the way they should which is better for SD? If I do my job with the 147 will it do its job out of the 3"? Has anyone used this amo in their xd and how did it work out? Or is there better ammo to go with? Info please. Remember trying to keep one type for both lenghts. Thanks

On the sub compact you should get the short barrel ammo.  I have both the sub 9 and .40 and use the short barrel for both.  unless target shooting.  I know it sucks to have to buy two types but the short barrel stuff expands better out of the short barrel because it doesn't have the velocity that the 4 inch barrel will give you.  I hope that helps it's the Speer brand and its on their website.
