OK, looks like I went down the wrong path with Indpendence.  The stuff was dirt cheap in bulk pricing, but terrible groups.  Shot some of my friend's reloads and tightened the group to half the size at 25.

I probably won't use steel casing Wolf, so don't mention it.  Anyone else have a suggestion for ammo that's relatively inexpensive by the case?  Winchester?  Speer?  CCI?  Remington UMC Yellow FMJ or Green JHP?  What about Wolf Gold (Brass casing)?

Thanks,
K

I use mostly Winchester White Box and it gives good accuracy balanced by a reasonable price. I buy mine at Sprawl (Wal) Mart.

WWB at Walmart or FAE at Natchez when it's on sale.

WWB, S&B, or MFS [found it's quite accurate and VERY clean]. Of the three I prefer MFS in the green and red box. A bit more accurate then WWB and much much cleaner burning. Cases reload fine also. It burns so clean that you almost have no need to tumble/clean the case before reloading it. Only problem is that it seem to be hit or miss as far as who carries it.

My vote goes to Fiocchi 230gr ball.

I've had excellent results with the Blazer Brass.... WWB is also excellent. Fiocchi has also shown to be very accurate in quite a few of my guns... .45acp revolver & 1911..

Great results with Blazer Brass and Fiocchi.  It seems to be hotter than the WWB.

I use Winchester WB from Wal-Mart. I'm going to try some Blazer Brass.

I have had 2 squib rounds with Fiocchi 230gr ball, that lodged in the barrel and because of that I have stopped using it.

I've shot so much wolf I cant tell you how many hundreds I've been through.
My custom tuned 1911's, as do my glocks, just love the stuff.

In fact, thier 62grn JHP shoots nicely from my 20" DPMS upper... sub MOA all day long.

I've searched high and low for the best .45 bulk deals, but nothing I find can ever beat WWB by the time I pay to have it shipped here.  I buy it by the case from Walmart for right around $215.  I'd love to be able to beat that online and not have to deal with going to Walmart - especially the one by my house where the have the most rabid anti-gun nut I have ever encountered working the gun booth!

You do, of course, tell him that you use it for your numerous MGs.

Hi,

there is a 3 day GS at the Expo center.  Look for deals there if its close to you.

If youre open to "reloads" there is a company in Montana that comes to the show to sell OEM and their reloads.
the link is:

http://www.thehuntingshack.com/

I have personally bought some in 45acp and have not had any issues.  They have "reloads" in virgin brass and some in USED brass.    I choose the used brass since was going to use them in an indoor range where i loose alot of brass.

the ones i bought were:

230 gr FMJ
Used, mixed, brass
500/$80.00

i think if you buy 1000 rounds there is a small discount.

the thing i liked, was that if you want some ammo and the show isnt in town, they will deliver since they have trucks out everyweek here.  there is a small charge, too, but i liked the idea.

Funny you should mention that. I'm stocking up on 115gr. WWB for my full auto SWD M11/9. I asked the woman sales clerk to hold fifteen 100 round Value Packs for me when they came in. She called me to let me know she set them aside for me. When I picked them up she asked why I needed so many rounds. I told her my son and I love to shoot our SMGs and the ammo goes fast. She asked me where we shot and asked if she could try out the SMG one weekend. BTW: She's sweet looking!

Thats a pretty light .45 acp round!
