I have this Delta 10mm that has the extended magwell.. can I get extended floorplates for my existing colt mags to fit properly..
Right now I need to use my thumb to get the mags to seat into the deep magwell..

Metalform mags have the ability for the screw on basepads don't they?... Those work just fine in my RIA Tac2 10mm 1911 with magwell.

The magwell seems to be a bit pointless... What is the exact utility of a magwell on a comp'd 10mm?... Will it improve reloads that much?

FWIW, the magwell was  removed from my RIA after the second or third range trip... Seemed pointless to me.

You could always replace or remove the magwell entirely.

I've never had a pistol with an extended magwell before. But, I purchased two new pistols (one with an extended magwell and one that I added) and I find that the extended magwell greatly speeds up my combat reloads. It's a must have item as far as I am concerned. Most of my 10mm magazines are Wilson Combat magazines that have the bumper pad that extends the magazine out just enough to facilitate easy magazine reloads. I don't know if Colt makes any that you can remove the existing base plates and add a bumper pad. You might try their website to see if they have them.
