If I bought a complete 45 Auto upper for a Series 80 Colt Delta Elite could I convert my 10mm to shoot 45 auto?
Will the frame be able to handle the slide? Thanks, Dave |

Thanks, Dave I believe this has been done many times. It should work, as the frame is milled to certain dimensions. Lighten the spring to 18-lb and you should be GTG. |

10mm is harder on the frame than 45acp.
But if you want a 45, sell that 10mm and get a 45 with cash to spare for ammo or? You may have to fit the 45 barrel and possibly the slide to the lower. If you're just looking to get both calibers out of the same frame it will work but know that the slide should be fitted to the frame. Don't go hacking on the frame because you wont be able to go back to that 10mm slide. The ejector may also be different and if it is, you'll have to change the ejector or work on it some to handle both calibers; but I'm not sure if the ejector is different. |
