I've been shooting my father-in-law's S&W 9mm and it seems that I'm always hitting to the right and low from where I'm aiming. What is causing this and how can I correct it? I saw a diagram once that showed quadrants around a bullseye and what would cause you to hit in that area. I'm not sure where I saw that. My father-in-laws answer is to compensate by aiming left and high of the target. I told him that I want to correct my form not compensate for my weakness. |

He must have a fixed sighted model...or a twist of a screw would zero you in. As it is, drifting the rear sight to the left would at least get the windage corrected and IMO, that's a bit more important than the elevation. As simon says If your father in law has no problem hitting where he aims, you may be pulling it downward when firing...sneak a 9MM snap cap somewhere into the magazine, when it chambers and does not fire, you may notice it then. |
Ditto on the snap cap idea... but dont load that mag yourself... make someone else load it for you. |
