Stopped at the store today and checked one out. Seems pretty comfortable and reasonably priced. Been working in some crap holes across the border where i have a CCW permit and have been thinking about a pocket gun.
Does anyone have any info on these? How reliable are they? I read alot of reviews and everything was mixed. Some said the first ones had problems but it has been taken care of with the new ones??? Arfom has never steered me wrong before so i figured id ask here. Thanks guys. |

I've seen them, but never fired. Nice looking, as are the S&W 380.
I personally would go with the more "tried and true" Ruger LCP. Most people (myself included) have been extremely happy with them. Other 380s do not have the following/useage that the LCP does. Mine has been flawless. Grab one and cycle 100 or so rounds to break it in and confirm reliability, then carry some Hornady Critical Defenses in it (after trying a mag or 2 of those as well, of course).... Good luck. |

I had one. It felt good in my hand and shot awesome. Good trigger. Extractor broke after first 20 rounds. I sent it in. Got it back in 2 weeks. I shot it some more. Had maybe 200 rounds through it and it started having this problem where it would chamber a round, but the trigger would not reset. I would rack the slide and sometimes this would fix the problem. It got to the point that I had to rack the slide about 6 times to have the trigger reset. I sent it in again. This time they sent me a brand new pistol. At this point I had lost confidence in the weapon for a defensive handgun. I.e. I didn't feel like I could trust my life to it. I sold it and bought a S&W Bodyguard 380. 600 rounds through it and not a single malfunction.
Also of note I had a Keltec P3AT. It was reliable, but I just had trouble with the tiny sights on it. I have the same problem with the Ruger. For some people they aren't bothered by this. If I were in your position and were looking for a pocket gun, I would go for the Bodyguard 380. Good sights, laser as a bonus, and in my experience thus far, 100% reliable (which is an absolute requirement of any carry gun). I should also say in fairness sake, that my Diamondback 380 was a very early model. ZA09xx was the serial number. At this point I think the serial numbers are ZDxxxx. I can't say if the issues have been worked out or not... If you were going to gamble on it, I would wait until you already have one that you know you can count on. Know what I mean? |

The ruger is almost 100$ cheaper than the DB new..
299.99 = ruger lcp 379.99 = DB at least that's what academy and a rival gun shop in my area have it at. if you are really leaning towards the DB watch academy i saw that they had them on sale for one week only for 299.99 brand new. |
| Had one of the early models, made two trips back to the factory before I let it go. Problems I had were F/F, F/E, and Failure on the trigger to reset. I will say Customer Service was good and got the weapon back within a week both times. 2nd time they shipped an additional mag because of the problems. I have followed the talk on the weapon and have read several continue to have the same problems I had. If it were me knowing what I know today I would pass. Replaced the DB with Ruger LCP and had no problems other than the gun was not much fun to shoot. Since replaced the LCP with the Kahr P380 and have had zero problems since purchase and found the P380 easy on the hand after shooting. The Kahr is expensive but worth the money. It would be the last .380 you would get. |

I don't believe I will ever purchase another Kahr, unless they cut the price in about half. Even then, I would relegate it to range duty only. |
