Ok CCW guys... How do various finishes Springfield offers hold up? The question is more geared towards holster wear, etc etc. Right now I'm looking to pick up a Champion so its between parkerized or SS. Thanks in advance. |

My Champion was blued. The bluing wasn't very good, and after about 3 years wore off badly. I had the pistol hard chromed. My suggestion would be either stainless, or expect to re-finish or change the finish after a few years of use. I have a friend that uses the baked-on teflon finish that Brownell's sells. He used a pistol hard for a year for IDPA and USPSA matches, and said it had absolutely no finish wear after thousands of presentations from the holster. Might be an alternative for you. |
