I just finished reading the thread about all the troubles a couple members had with their new EMP. Also noted that the thread was started a long time ago and all troubles have been corrected. So I take from that, that Springfield has their brown stuff together on the new EMP's. I have read many good things about these little guns so I am thinking about getting one. Question which caliber? Not big into 9mm (for no other reason then I do not reload for that round) and I do like .40 and .45. Is 40 a good choice with the 3" barrel? I know some have had troubles with .45 in the smaller guns but what about .40? Or is 9 the real choice for this type of weapon for true reliablity? This would be for daily carry not necessary range use (of course it would get it's share of range work to prove itself first).
Thanks in advance.

So one day you are thinking about getting an EMP and a few days later you say you 'don't get' the same pistol?

The EMP interests me a lot and I want one, but only in the 9mm version. The .40 has a steel frame, and while some claim that weight does not bother them, it does bother me. For most scenarios in the states, 10rd of first tier 147gr JHP with 18rd. more on tap should get the job done. In places where the zombies run in larger packs and may have shoulder weapons, I feel better with a higher capacity pistol. JMO

I like mine. 9mm. No issues.  Carries well, looks good.  Exactly what I was looking for.

I just picked up my EMP last week and finnaly got take it out today for the first time. I ran over 500 rounds of 124gr FMJ with not one single problem. With no effort at all I was able to punch single ragged hole groups with the little thing. I love this pistol. It is by far the best in my collection. I hope this helps with your decision making process. Buy one and you will not be disapointed at all. By the way it is brand new 2010 mod.

Well I did it, Bought a .40 EMP the other day. Only ran one box of shells thru her so far but it ran fine. Recoil is very managable in the little gun. I was worried about follow up shots with such a small barrel and being .40. They had a new 9mm and a used .40. Both were priced about the same and since I reload for .40 and not 9mm it was an easy choice. OH yea did I mention that the .40 also came with CTC grips and three factory mags . This is the most I have paid for a gun in all the years I have been shooting but it sure is a sweet gun. Now to find a good holster for it so she can travel with me safe and sound.

SzUrGoT, great looking rig, is that a Milt Spark holster you show? I need a good carry holster and I understand those are one of the best but that the wait is quite long for them. Anything out there to hold me over until I could get one? Still have not been able to figure out how to post pic's but I'll keep trying

Quality holster with less cost and wait than a Milt Sparks.  I gave you a link on how to post pics, did you check it out?
