Just got home on mid-tour leave from Korea to find the frames on both of my Vaquero's covered in surface rust. There isn't a speck of rust on any of my other guns but those two are really bad. Where should I start? Solvent and a cloth? Nylon brush? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I've never had an issue like this before. Thanks, Steven

0000 steel wool, CLP, and a light touch.

And a thin coating of oil for storage afterwards.

I like the gun grease in the squeeze tube.  I had a Romarms AK47 that would rust faster then you could say the word rust.  I finally wiped it down with gun grease and then oiled it and wiped it again and it finally stopped rusting.

Same thing with a shotgun that I had.  Wipe it down with gun grease and then wipe it down with oil and no more rust.

Use some EEZOX on them and store them in Bore Stores and you'll be good to go longterm
