This only happens when firing from double action:

So I pull the trigger, round fires, slide goes back, instead of cocking the hammer, the hammer rides the slide back forward and stops in its deckocked position. This only happens when firing from DA and when I hold the trigger to the rear until the recoil is over.

It does this 70-80% of the time.

This was not an issue with my old FNX9 and am wondering if there is any quick fix or if this has to go back to FNH?

The gun was manufactured in july 2011 and has approximately 100rds since new.

Thanks, Tyler

Have you looked closely at the trigger group housing?

Older FNPs had troubles with that part cracking.  Take the slide off and look carefully at the right side of the internals.

In any case you are going to have to send it in to FNH-USA for repair, or more likely now, replacement with an FNX-9, as the FNP is out of production.

Thanks for the reply.

No cracking that I can tell. I am going to take the entire trigger assembly out tomorrow and see.

I have also heard of early FNP's having a sear tilt problem...

will call FN USA on Monday.

Sear "tilt" was due to cracking in the housing.

In any case it will have to go back to FNH.

I hope you get it repaired/replaced in a timely manner.

They are very good pistols.
