| when you pull the trigger back in double action sometimes it wont fire it will just pull the trigger all the way back and then if you hit it it will fire. (of course we tested with empty gun) anyone else have this problem? i guess theres not enough trigger to drop it. will be sending back for repairs. |

This sounds like a known issue with the early FNP-9's and FNP-40's. There was a flaw with the fire control group. Not sure if this is a documented flaw requiring recalls, but it has happened before. If this is the problem, FNH-USA will be replacing your FCG for free. The newer ones work great. |

Ahh...There we go.
This is the Sear Tilt Problem that all the $1000.00 FNP Tactical fan boys were telling me was unpossible just last week and that the geniuses at FN couldn't possibly have rushed a Double Action Death Trap Fire Control Group into production to satisfy American Law Enforcement procurement requirements. Basically. what happens is the plastic housing of the FNP fire control group flex's as the trigger is pulled in double action, allowing the sear to tilt. The left hand edge of the tilted sear fails to release the hammer. It is not an isolated problem...Nor is it a problem FN has made any real effort to fix. Or we'd of seen a metal fire control housing. The only effort FN made to fix the problem was to drop the FNP-M Compact model. Which was particularly prone to the problem. (Great FN customer support huh? Try finding a magazine for a FNP-m Compact just a year after they were discontinued.) FN's $1000.00 pistol service? I guess if you call being stroked service. An FN rep will be extremely sympathetic to your problem and will send you a shipping box. Then the Browning Service Center in Missouri will promptly ignore your description of whats wrong with the gun and send you back a pistil thats sear still tilts, three months later. FN hates you just as much as H&K. The only difference is FN has better PR....Well that and H&K's Actually work. Despite the fact that they hate us. |
