I'm experiencing alot of excessive overheating on my FNS9 after running through about 3-4 mags of PMC 9mm 124gr FMJ. The takedown lever is extremely hot as in way too hot to touch and using the thumbs forward grip it is unusable due to the heat generated. This was all shot with a slow/normal rate of fire and happens every time consistently even with separate batches of ammo. Is anybody else experiencing this issue with their FNS 9? I rang up FN US and they said there is no issues with this and its the first they have heard of it and there is nothing they can do even if I send it in.

I've ran 150 rounds through my FNX-9, which has the same take down lever arrangement, as fast as I could load my 5 mags with an UPLULA loader and never had any heat problems of any kind.  Other than normal heating of the barrel and slide, of course.

Lubr it. Stainless requires a good lube on the slide rails, more so than carbon steel.

Mine does the same if I go through 150 rounds or so quickly.

my usp, 1911, ar15, fnx-9 and shotgun all have that exact same problem.

ran 5 mags through my FNS-9 back to back recently and the takedown lever did get hot but it didn't interfere with my grip.  Just don't holster it right away.

Gun has been excellent so far.  No problems of any kind.
Eats everything I feed it (so far only Ultramax 125gr FMJ, Speer 125gr TMJ and Winchester Ranger 147gr bonded JHP)
over 3k rounds through it now.
