My nib 45 hates my reloads.  I'm using 5.1grs of wst and a 200gr bullet and every round is a failure to eject.  This is the same recipe I use for my Kimber 1911, sig 220, smith 4516, and smith m&p 45, and don't have problems with those guns.    Put factory ammo through gun and gun runs perfect. I looked on Wollf's web site for a lighter spring, but they don't list springs for the fn's.  Should I try different powder or shoot it with factory till the recoil spring breaks in some more?

I have about 500rds through the gun

7gr of power pistol with a zero 230gr fmj, federal 150 primer works well in my FNP. The win231 loads that function in my 1911 have FTF and weak ejection in the FNP.

Are you using wad cutters or flat point ? I run 230gr roundball plated and lead with 5.6 grains of Winchester w231 and have never had a hiccup in my fnx45 or my 1911's , Kimber & Ruger, maybe check your COAL and crimp to be safe, I think my oal is 1.270 & crimp is .470, good luck, you will find the sweet spot.

Did you let it sit for a week with the slide locked back? I have an fnx45 tac and I've been shooting 200gr cast bullets with about 5gr of titegroup.  No issues so far.

I'm using WST not 231.  oal is 1.280.  I'm using montana gold's 200gr jhp's.  have 200gr lswc, but none loaded.

1.280 seems a little long, my Speer shows 1.275 as max, I doubt .005 is hanging you up but wouldn't hurt to try...

Mine is having the same problem with 5 grains of Titegroup and 185 gr. FMJ bullets.  Factory 185 gr. works fine.  I'm going to try locking the slide back for awhile.  If that doesn't do the trick, I'll start increasing the powder charge.

i also had a similar problem with my FNX45.  It would only cycle at just below max powder charges with a 200gr RN bullet.  I read about using a modded G17 glock spring that would cycle target loads better.  link here  There was no confirmation that it did work and they were talking about the FNP45.

Before I messed around with the spring I was going to lock my slide back for a couple of weeks.  Right now my slide it also locked to the back going on week 2.

I would keep my stock spring and get one from MGW to mess around with. It would be bad if you got it to work with light loads and then forgot and started firing full loads with the weak spring. I wish wolf would come out with a spring kit for teh FN's

mgw only lists recoil springs for the fnx 40 and 9.  they list a spring for the fnp 45.  will the fnp spring work in the fnx?
