So I'm having a big issue on pretty much all  3 magazines that came with my FNX 45 Tactical.  At first I thought it was a faulty magazine and then the other two had the same problems.  Its either ammo or the loader....

The follower binds leaving no pressure on the ammunition.  If turned upside down, the rounds can literally fall out.  The ammo is wolf and was loaded using a Lula pisol magazine loader.

Anyone know the problem or a fix?

Have you disassembled the mags to see if maybe there is some kind of obstruction? Your safest bet is to give fn a call and explain to them what is happening. They'll either repair or replace them given its a factory defect and not user error.

Try brass case ammo. Wolf steel case does the same in my hi power and G17 magazines.

Is the steel-cased ammo lacquer coated like the Wolf rifle rounds are?  Try some powdered mica on the springs, inside the follower.  Also know as mold-release, or motor mica.  Some people use it for case neck lubrication, you can get it at MidwayUsa.

How could the lacquer affect if this was the first time the mag was loaded with it? I have a sneaking feeling the loader is somehow binding the follower by on putting pressure on the front of the round when seating each one.

why would you buy a nice gun and put shitty steel case ammo in it?

put brass in it. but i would think it would work with anything.
my FNX 45 Tac has not had a problem yet, but i haven't put steel case in it either.

I would check the followers for flashing but call and ask them about the ammo also.

FN instructed me to mail the 3 mags to them.  About 2 weeks later I got a package containing 3 new boxed mags.  I noticed the boxes stated FNP45 (FDE 15Rd).  I have a FNX45T.  I also noticed there were only 3 ports on the rear of the mag to estimate round count, as opposed to the numerous ports that were on the FNX mags I returned.  These seem to insert and catch correctly? Did FN goof or is this a acceptable replacement?

The FNP mags will not work in the FNX. They goofed.

And agreed...why are you shooting Steel cased ammo in your $1200 pistol?

See if this thread helps you out, I know there was one about correcting the problem. Just not sure if it's this one.

...because I got 2k rounds free.  It wasn't a feeding or function issue at all in the part of the pistol itself.  It was an issue with the magazines only.

Thanks for the link. That seems to be about the same issue I had.

Update: I called FN and they agreed that I was sent the incorrect mags.  He put in the order for 3 more and stated that I was free to keep these.  I suppose I'll list them on the EE.

Your pistol should work with any SAMMI spec ammo, even a POS Hi Point works with Wolf ammo........

FN makes great rifles but frankly sucks making pistols IMHO.

No kidding,
It seems to be acceptable that glocks can have magazine sticking issues so this should be no problem.

Good joke!

OP- I had magazine issues with all three FNX 45 T magazines on the first range trip. None wanted to feed from fully loaded. I came home, took them apart, cleaned them very well and left them loaded for a week.

Ran like butter on the next range trip.

I've got about 300 rounds of Tula .45 down the pipe. For shooting paper there is no problem using shitty ammo

that's why I pay more, so it can run shit...

I bought 500 rds of Wolf .45 as an experiment for my MAC.   It seems the only reliable pistol with it is the FNX.

Same here, mainly shoot bulk reloads but picked up a pile of .45 Wolf last year at a local gun show super cheap and it runs fine thru my FNX-45, CZ97B, and my beater Colt 1911. My RIA 1911 Tac II occasionally choked on it and my Kahr PM45 didn't like it at all (it was finicky on other ammo types as well, that's why I no longer have it). My FNX is one of my better pistols and usually gets the good ammo but I've never had any issues with the cheap stuff.
