I notice that when I go to clean the gun the quide rod is not fully seated. After cleaning I reassemble, work the slide once, remove slide and quide rod will be out of the slot about 1/2 way.. Is this a problem?
i dont know my terminology all that well, but if the guide rod is the rod that is inside the spring, and if you're describing that when you remove the slide, the spring and rod are not "seated", then mine is the same way, has not been a problem, have over 2k rounds thru it without a hitch. when i clean, obviously i remove it and the barrel and then on reassembly, just push the spring and rod into place. im guessing it doesnt go anywhere once the slide is back on the frame.
This isn't a problem. When you push the takedown lever back up after reassembly, the guiderod actually seats against the takedown cam inside the frame. The little slot on the barrel lug is just to hold the recoil spring assembly in place while you reassemble the pistol.
