What mags are you using?

The mags were Chip Mc. Wilson C. and the ori. sa. that came with the mil-spec. I also tried the the fmj (american eagle, white box winchester) after the hydros ftf, and they worked fine.I should have been more specific,I  just bought a SA loaded champion 4" SS, and was shooting it for the first time, and didn't want my mil-spec to get jealous so I shot it also. By the way no problems at all with the SA champion....

This is the standard Mil-Spec and not the GI version...correct?

Therein lies the problem...it's not set up to feed anything other than ball ammo.

I don't get it.  Is it a GI or is it a Milspec.  When I bought mine they were two different pistols.  My milspec ran HP's fine.  Mine was a 5" pistol though.

I have a SA Mil-Spec and use the Chip McCormick 8 round mags and it works just fine.  I always shoot semi wad cutters in it.  Also have shot fmj without problems, too.

Sorry for the confusion - most of the folks I speak with are under the impressions that the "GI .45" is a Mil-Spec whereas it is not (model PW910LP). This model is an "as-issued" M1911A1

I have a model PB9108LP which has fed anything I shoved into it. Read about it here...
