Does anyone out there make commonly available non-jacketed factory handgun ammo? The local indoor range does not allow jacketed ammo. This is not an issue for rimfire but I do not recall EVER seeing factory 9mm or 45s non-jacketed. Yes, I know I could load but I'd like a source for something quick to grab.

9mm I rarely see as bare lead, but I've seen several .45 loadings in bare lead. Usually truncated cone wad cutters, but sometimes full 230 grain.

You probably see more in .45 because it's almost always a lower velocity round and you don't have as much a problem from leading the barrel.

it seems odd an indoor range not allowing jacketed bullets....are you sure they dont mean no steel jackets?  I would think allowing people to only shoot lead would create a pretty serious lead hazard inside an indoor range.

Are you sure they didn't mean FULL metal jacket, not just jacketed ammo.

I have never heard of such a restriction, the most common restriction at an indoor range is "no full metal jackets".

I'm not real sure I'd want to shoot all lead bullets in a rifle.....but you are probably talking about a handgun only range anyways since you only mentioned handgun calibers.

The indoor range I used to belong to did not allow any jacketed rounds...they had an older backstop that I want to say was only made out of 1/4" steel.  So yes, it's uncommon, but there are still ranges out there like that.
