Hey Fellas, gonna' be picking up my first 92fs! If the guide rod is plastic, is replacing it with a steel one, a must have? No. IMO the plastic one is better. Has flutes so dirt/gunk won't jam it up. If it gets bent, it just bends back. With a steel rod, if it's bent you've got problems. Plastic rod is also lighter. IIRC the mil has approved all the current plastic parts for the M9. |

It's big and heavy enough that 9mm feels like shooting a 22. I know a lot of the gun gamers do though and more power to them. |

You will end up selling the Glock, IMO. A 17 is no where near as accurate as a 92FS is. Quoted:

Thanks Guys! I'm hoping this 92fs gives my P226ee, and Gen4 G17, a run for their money! You will end up selling the Glock, IMO. A 17 is no where near as accurate as a 92FS is. But it is so much lighter and sleeker |

The 92 series pistol has a timeless look and appeal. They feel like they are running on ball bearings. I have one and it is the last pistol I will ever part with. Yup. I like glocks a lot. My g19 that I carry is an incredible shooter and it's great to shoot but damn if berettas dont evoke a visceral response from me. Im not sure its from mel gibson or being issued one but I love Berettas. Congrats on the new one |

Or Glock owners. I've had many of them shoot a 92FS & outshoot their own Glocks. For the record, I own several severe target pistols: S&W 41, S&W 52, Sig P-220, CZ Accu Shadow, etc. I can shoot bullseye with multiple platforms with no issues. Glocks are 100% reliable but their accuracy isn't something to write home about. |

Question Two! Is the "D" Spring a must have for my BN Stock 92FS? Is there that much noticeable difference, from stock spring to D spring? Yes, especially in double action. IF you have a METAL hammer (not the poly coated one, pure metal), drop in a Wolff reduced power trigger return spring. Coupled with the DAO mainspring, it'll drop 2-3lbs off of the DA pull, IMO. On the flip side, should you go with the DAO mainspring, *I* advise you to bump up the recoil spring by a couple of lbs to make up for the lowering of slide resistance during cycling. Not everyone does this, but *I* prefer to not batter my guns & want them to last a long, long time. Besides, a recoil spring is only $8-9. Money well spent, IMO. My .o2 |

It's personal preference. I bought a steel guide rod, trigger, D spring and a 14 and 15lb recoil spring to try out.
Didn't take long to turn into a Glock vs Beretta. BTW, got the steel guide rod off ebay for $9 shipped, same as factory or Wolf. |
