Just picked up my first H&K today.  Always wanted one ever since seeing Die Hard, but they have always been a little more than I wanted to pay.

Today at a pawn shop, I found a P7M8 police trade in.  From my limited knowledge, it appears to be a German refurb since it has the markings milled off of the slide.  Finish seems to be in excellent shape.  I dont see any holster wear.  Squeeze seems really smooth too...Not to hard.

They were asking $800, but I was able to get him down to $750.  Came with the box, 2 mags, brush, tool, and book (in german).

How'd I do??

If anyone can provide me any more info on the gun, I'd really appreciate it.

Can't wait to shoot it!  Thanks!

You're on the money with your info. I bought practically the same thing about 10-12 years ago & paid "only" $599 for mine. Mags then were $45 each, NIB, & now seem to go for $60 or so, NIB.

With a bit of practice & ammo selection, you should be able to shoot virtually one ragged hole @ 20 yards, IMO.

Welcome to the H&K Club!

Yeah, thats kind of what I was thinking...seemed like a good deal to end up it with an M8 at a PSP price.

Thanks for the welcome...I'm really anxious to try it out....hoping to go friday while everyone is at the mall.

I did find a link to "Ford's Custom Gun Refinishing" and I think he does slide work and is able to mill off the milling mark and re-apply the original markings...I'll shoot the hell out of it first, then maybe send it in for a hard chrome/milling job.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

I also found a screaming deal on a P7M8...$700.00 with 2 mags, matching factory box, brush and scraper...
I sent the slide only to Virgil Tripp and had him add his Cobra Chrome to the top end. Mine had gone "plum" on the slide but the lower looked perfect. I couldn't be happier with the job he did. If you want a photo just send me an email.
I looked at the re-mill but in the end, I'll deal with the mark. After all it was the shooting that brought me to own one. The previous post was right on..very acurate gun.
Good luck with yours.

Doesn't sound too bad to me.  I paid $735 inc tax a few years ago.  It was for the better 1/2. She had taken an unhealthy liking to MY P7M13, and I didn't like to share.  Problem "fixed"  I spent about that much on extra mags after.  I will say that P7 mags are built like tanks and will out last me.  The original M13 mags that I have, that are now old enough to vote, still run great.  Good job and welcome to the CULT.
