I've got a glock 24 (long slide 40 cal) which, at 25 yards,  shoots about 6" low and left (WOW!) on the 1st shot. The remaining (4)shots of this 5 shot string group nicely at about 1.5-2".  Anyone got any ideas how to cure the first shot flyer problem?  I've tried different ways to rack the slide, etc. (hard pull back and release from a closed breech position, and by pressing slide release button to let it fly foward from an open breech position).

Any ideas/thoughts would help.

Thanks in advance!

If you're really serious, put the first one in the ground/downrange. It's a common problem.

Low & Left? Could be a flinch expecting that first shot. Is this rapid fire or slow, target style shooting?

not rapid fire....slow, deliberate, 5 shot groups w/controlled breathing and trigger release...and with no flinch.

As Kurt noted (above) this appears to be a common problem...I was wondering if anyone had corrected it via custom barrel, change of recoil spring, etc.

It could be a barrel lock up problem.  I would say to see a Glock armorer and get the problem documented, then call Glock and approach them with it. They may replace the barrel.

If all of this does not work, a KKM match barrel is $165.
