Got my H&K P2000sk (need to do a review later), carried today for the first time.

Went to gun store, the range, did some grocery shopping, drove around...

Can't say I was nervous, other than little inconvenience of new feeling of gun being pushing into my side by the belt, carrying just felt natural.
I was checking it few times to make sure it was there, but that's about it... I was feeling calm.

BTW, great gun... It might take little time to get used to it due to small size.

I recall that day... I was a little uncomfortable in busy places trying not to print or let it show... As for the feeling of it, it will be like a wallet or cell phone. You will drive 3 miles back home if you have left it.

Agreed.  I freak out when I get somewhere and realize that I left my two reload mags at home, and I am stuck with the meager 11 rounds in the gun...  #gunnutprobs

I used to worry a lot about printing until I realized how little the average person is.  People don't notice anything, they are too busy updating their facebook status on their iphone to notice that your shirt has a little bulge to it.

I haven't visited Wal-Mart yet, nor have I seen police officer turning his back on me yet, or other horrors. )))
But I was thinking about how it might print and be noticeable to others.

Today, while walking outside it just felt like everyone is going to notice. Oh, well, I think it is only temporary.

Gotta go to Wal-Mart.

At a grocery store a few weeks ago, very crowded... My five year old was bouncing about as five years olds will when she headbutted the butt of my CCW piece... A 5" 1911 in a Milt Sparks VM2.  Loud 'thowk' followed by the "YEOWWWCH!  What did I hit my head on dad?".  As any good father would do in such a situation when a bunch of mid-40's womernz are suddenly looking real hard at you....I offered to let my kid pick out a pint of ice cream.
Head wound from the butt of my 1911 instantly forgotten.

We were at a hospital a couple of weeks ago and I was trying to discretely put my pistol in a lockbox inside the cab. You have to open a door and move a seat around to get to it. I grabbed a fast food bag and stuck my gun in there while I was trying to get everything secured.

My 4 year old hollars "why are you putting your gun in that donut bag!?"

No shit, I remember carrying a G26 IWB and being paranoid, lately I've been carrying a G17 with a TLR-1s OWB plus a double mag pouch and don't think anything of it

I was in a motorcycle accident last year, knocked myself out and had to be ambulanced to the hospital. One of the riders in our group was a police officer and he secured my G19 & holster for me to pick up when I got out. They left my ARES belt and spare mag/pouch on me, couldn't figure out how to get it off I guess. When I came to in the emergency room I asked a nurse for my cell phone, so that I could call my wife and tell her I was ok. She handed me my G19 mag in the pouch and said "Here you go.". This was after the hospital had striped me down and removed my 1" neck knife for "security reasons". Long story short, most people don't know a gun mag from an iPhone. This is one of the reasons I tell all of my friends and relatives that are new to carrying to relax, most people just don't have a clue.

I've gotten to the point now with a good belt and a great holster that I can't feel it on any more.  I've freaked myself out a few times while sitting down.  I fail to feel the presence of my gun on my hip and I get a little scared in my head, "Where did it go?!!".  But I always carry IWB and with a tucked in shirt, the holster allows me to run in a dead on sprint without a wiggle, and jumping is no problem either.  Even if it did manage to come out, it is in my shirt and pants so it wouldn't go anywhere anyhow.

Very true.  When the subject comes up in conversation about CCW, if I am feeling comfortable with the other people in the conversation I'll even divulge the fact I'm currently carrying.  I've only done that twice, once among family and once among a group of close friends.  Both times NOBODY believed me.  I had to let one of them see cause they thought I was lying.  You seriously can't tell I carry even when I point it out and show it to you even though it feels VERY obvious to me.

Recently I was given permission to carry at work. It's funny getting asked why I'm not carrying, then showing the 5" 1911 I've had on my hip for weeks.

I've been lugging the gun around since 1999. It's all about a sturdy belt and a good holster.

The thought of something lighter has crossed my mind...but as it is you never have to check to make sure an all steel full size 1911 is still there

Agreed.  At first, I wondered how I could possibly hide even a Glock 27 in a IWB... now I sometimes carry a G21 with a TLR-1 mounted and two spare mags under a polo shirt.  When I am not carrying that, I have a G17 the rest of the time, including at work with slacks and a tucked in polo.

People don't pay attention.

clear out a drawer or at least make room, because you will start to accumulate holsters and belts
I have a P2000SK also..and carried it for some time, but found out my P99C is lighter, handles and shoots better..carries better, so that"s my CC now.  Due to the hype, I've bought an Ares belt, an Atlas cobra belt, MTAC holster, Old Faithful holster, High Noon Holster....and now have the golden ticket - a Remora holster.  This one holster can be used on both my P2000SK and P99c, and is super comfortable because I can position it anywhere and any degree of cant...and it stays.  I don't use those "gun" belts anymore because they were uncomfortable on me and actually printed the pistol more than my normal leather belt.
If you don't have any, try to get a flat base mag plate and try that out also to see how it helps with concealment.  The standard base plate with finger extension printed a little more, with me, while the flat mag disappears.  Also, the flat plate did not affect how I shot or hold the pistol..so worked out better for me.

This guy speaks a whole bunch of truth.

Once you remove the weight of the gun from the belt that holds your pants up, the comfort and concelability factors are greatly increased.

I wore my G30sf IWB with the Theis single clip last weekend. SHorts and a Tshirt. After running around, grocery store, bank, Home Depot,  I kept it on in the house, for 6 hours. At the end of the day I asked my wife if she had noticed and she hadn't. T shirt had rode up a couple of times, in and out of the recliner a couple times, worked in the kitchen with her for a while.

We know its there so we are conscious of it, but unless you are looking for it, no one notices.

Thanks for the input!

In the last few days I've been looking at different holsters, and I think it is coming down to either Comp Tac MTAC or Crossbreed. Advantage of Comp Tac is that they can ship it within 2 days vs 6 weeks for Crossbreed.
As for belt, can I just wear it with regular decent quality belt? Is there reason to get special belt?

Right now, I carry it in Desantis IWB holster, and once I move it to good spot, I can barely feel it (not sure if that's a good thing), but apparently moving from 3 to 4 o'clock makes a lot of difference.

I do hope that I will always be aware where my gun is and where I am going, so I don't walk into places I'm not supposed to walk into with a gun. One thing I noting, before going places now I think if I can remember seeing any "No guns" signs.

I remember my first legal beer it was like the first day of legal carry, looking for my dad to beat my butt for doing something wrong.  Now I have no problems carrying open

or concealed, I had an incident with CBP where they are supposed to call me if they are on the property its 2700 acres, I fired a couple warning shots into the ground and

sent two agents running for the bushes, I thought they were modern day criminal trespasser's in south Texas.  Two hours later CBP said I did nothing wrong and there was

a breakdown of communication on their part for not calling me.  I was open carrying with 8 agents and 2 supervisory Border Patrol Agents around me I was calm, cool and,

collected.
