I'm having trouble carrying a flashlight and preventing it from coming on in my pocket.

I've tried a Icon Rogue (single AA, dual output, tailcap switch), but had trouble with the thing turning on in my pocket and getting HOT.

Currently I'm using 4Sevens Preon2 (double AAA, tailcap switch, with a pen-like clip) clipped to my pocket, but I'm finding that occasionally when seated I'll end up hitting the switch and turning the light on.

Has anyone come up with a good way to pocket carry a flashlight that does NOT cause the light to come on accidentally?

I have carried a Fenix PD30 and TK10 without ever having issues of them turning on inside the pocket. There has been maybe one or two times, in the past many years, where its happened. All my lights get carried "head down" with the switch sticking up just outside my front pocket.

I carry bezel down with a tail cap light, a big surefire 6P. No problems. What part of your body is hitting the switch? May have to carry in the back pocket.

I'm not worried about the flash light falling out of my pocket. I'm worried about the flashlight TURNING ON in my pocket.

In addition to the obvious battery life concerns, those things get fucking hot.

ohhh I have the tactical version of the quark AA2 but ordered a standard tailcap as the boot is flush with the metal while the tactical's boot is extended past the
metal of the cap.

here are some photo's. im not sure if they have the same parts for your model but the quark is a good light if you want alot of options. think i paid a total of $15 for the clip and cap.

I carry a SureFire Back up never had it turn on when in the pocket, even with keys, and often a knife in the same pocket. If it were an issue I would twist the tail cap so it could not activate until needed.

My LX2 in always in a sheath on my belt. Any other place, and I end up finding a way to break the pocket clip. I used to have a surefire sheath/holster, but the velcro failed and the cover started flopping around, so now its in a worn and stretched out mini-mag sheath. I have a clip that surefire sent for free after I called and told them I broke two clips from my E2E and E2D (shorter, stouter clips), and replaced my broken LX2 clip with one of them and clip it to the sheath as I put it in to prevent it from going too deep for me to reach in a hurry. It's safe, secure, easily accessible, and best of all, I haven't broken any more pocket clips!

older surefire w/ the twist cap on/off, press button on. 'clickie' tailcaps are the one most prone to getting turned on (permenantly)

Have carried my Fenix PD30 for years now, won't go anywhere without it. I learned quickly that my mag pouches, when worn a certain way, would click my light on. Of course I didn't know until I had a 200 degree light in my pocket Those damn things get crazy hot.

Happened a couple times, I moved my mag pouches back and actually like carrying them there a lot better and have gotten used to it. The Fenix isn't a crazy easy button but when you sit and compress hard plastic into your pocket, it was inevitable.
