Anyone here fly with their Glock with the case it comes with?

Or is a better case needed for air travel?

No.
I bought a $15 lockable case (years ago. Now Cost is $25), use a TSA approved lock, check it at baggage counter.

Call airline ahead to verify procedure.

Enjoy your trip.

Yes, just buy a padlock that will go around the handle (if its the new box). Otherwise just buy a locking hard case and store your ammo separately. The last few times I flew (last week) they haven't even looked at the gun, they just had me sign the slip saying it was unloaded and locked and scanned my bag for explosives...

Actually, a TSA lock is a poor choice, and may be a regulatory violation.

Firearms cases must be locked with a lock that ONLY the PASSENGER has the key to or knows the combination.  TSA locks, by design, can be opened by any flunkie with one of those TSA keys.

i used this lock box to fly. it also serves as my under seat truck lock box. i have used this same box for 3 years and it has held up very nicely to sometimes being used daily.

i use the small cable to rap around the pop up handle metal frame of the suitcase. lock the mags in with the gun. i also used a action lock through the slide/mag well so when they x-ray the bag, it is easy for tsa to verify the gun is unloaded. be sure to carry the ammo in original box and in a separate compartment of the bag. do not give a key to anyone with tsa or airlines. carry two keys to get into the gun box.

print the flight lines and tsa gun policy. like this and this. carry one set in the checked gun bag and one in your carry on. hopefully you don't have to show any ya who that you can check a gun in, but better safe that group showers.

do not let bag be marked on the outside in any way that there is a firearm inside! there should only be a small firearm deceleration receipt tag the checker lady will tape to the gun box.

Years ago, I drilled holes in one of the old-style Glock boxes (The Tupperware ones), and that is still what I use to this day, mainly because when I travel with it, I am only taking it for self defense.  If I was competing, or going to a class, I would be taking a bigger case like a Pelican or something.

I got an SKB single TSA approved case and it works.

My concern is that the Glock tupperware can easily be sawed in half.

You just have to delare the gun, show them it's unloaded and sign off.

When I use it, I double lock it, so it is not as big of a deal.  Just be carful when you declare it.  Every airport is different.  Sacremento Airport takes it in a backroom to check it, and they didn't lock my suit case afterwards.
