I'm talking about the "butt plugs" for Glocks made by Jentra and Pearce.

I picked one up today for my new Gen4 G26. The rep said that the opening in the frame allows for water drainage if the Glock is submerged which makes sense. I know a lot of people use them for aesthetics and to prevent lint or dirt from entering, but the water comment got me thinking.

I know it doesn't affect function either way being inserted. I don't really see how to remove it once it's in since it fits flush (feedback on this would be appreciated).

Anyway, sorry to ramble. I put these in my Gen3 Glocks but never took them out even when I sold them. Should I or shouldn't I?

It doesn't matter either way. The cavity is simply left from the way it is made. I put a plug in my 19 to smooth reloads a hair, that's about all they do.

I like them simply for looks

I wouldn't use one, but on a 26 it doesn't matter much.

On full size and compact glocks the half-circle cutout is useful if you have a double-feed and need to do a rip and strip drill.

I have them in all of mine
G27, 2x G35's

Done alot of failure to extract drills with the G35 with the plugs in - no issues

I've never used one and never found myself wishing I had one.

I fo'd. It looks good. It sits pretty flush and still allows for use of the interchangeable backstraps. To remove it, it looks as though I will have to wedge something into the small gap between it and the frame. It will most likely be marred in the process. That or do a complete frame disassembly and push it out from the top.

I like it on the 30. It feels a little better.

Yes, Do it. Cheap, can smooth reloads, looks finished. Made up crap about clearing jams and allowing dirt to get out is from net commandos.
