For those of you that have front slide serrations, have you ever had slide bite on your support hand thumb? I want to get my slides done, but think this could be an issue.

Do you grip in such a way that your thumb rests on the slide?

That would be weird.

I sometimes make incidental contact with the slide during recoil but I can't image it would actually cut me if I had front serrations.

Probably not an issue.

I get pretty close and may accidentally ride it. Being smooth I'm wondering if I'm not noticing any contact, but with serrations I may find out quickly.

I experienced just this after shooting about 400 rounds last week. My 1911 has front serrations and it rubbed my thumb extremely raw...

I just took it that I need to shoot more, and form a callous

I use a thumb forward grip, and have had no problems on my AA 19 which has pretty aggressive front serrations.

May have to experiment with your grip, but it shouldn't be an issue.
