I just installed my trijicon hd front sight and used blue loctite instead of red. Is this okay? I'm taking it to a gunsmith tomorrow to have him install the rear sight and if I should have used red ill just have him redo it.

I use red. I've never done one with blue so I don't know how well it works.

Red 262 is the way to go to avoid any issues. Take a look at this article I did a while ago, should help you out.

I've had this bottle of blue loctite since the mid 90's and have put on more Glock sights with it than I can remember.
Blue works fine, red will never come loose and when its time to change the sights its just a Pain in the a** to mess with.
Heres my sight tools with your post in the background to prove to you I ain't no fat kid in a dorm room trying to BS you.
Trust me blue loctite is fine, just have the sight bolt good and tite and a drop of blue on it and all is good.
I just installed several today at a local gun show also, never had a complaint.

Thanks for the proof
I'll just let it go then. This is the first one I've done. Made my own front site tool by grinding down a socket.

I read so many threads on it that it seemed 50% said blue and the other 50% said red. Didn't see anyone say they ever had a problem with either

Wish I had a sight pushed though so I could do the rear.

Either one is fine, as long as you use something.

I installed the rear sights on my Glock 22 myself.  TruGlo TFO's
If you have a vice, it's pretty easy to do yourself.
There's a bunch of youtube videos about it.

Lots of guys use Blue 242 Loctite and report good results.  Some guys use blue Loctite and report that their sight fell off.  I use red Loctite and never have had a sight come loose.  I've also removed several front sights that I'd installed with red Loctite, and had no problems doing so.  NO heat, no broken screws.  There's speculation, guys, then there's experience.

Went into atlantic tactical this morning and had then install the rear. Even with the sight press, they managed to put little dings and rubb the finish off of the rear sight

Must of been a universal installation sight tool, A sight tool made for a glock should not do that.

Not sure which one they have. They said it was extremely tight. The marks aren't going to bug me to much. I figured since its my ccw gun it's gonna show some wear. Just next time ill either by my own press or use a nylon punch
