I recently sent a G26 to Glock to install factory night sights.  I noticed the front sight was dead. Do you think Glock will replace it for free?  What is the warranty for Glock Brand Night Sights?

Never seen a night sight die, even the ones I've had for years are still pretty bright.

Are you sure it isn't covered with some powder?   Try putting a little cleaner on a q-tip and twisting in the front sight.... might be something simple.

My G21 FS gets occluded by powder, clean as suggested with some rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip.
If the Tritium tube cracks then the gas will leak out and the sight will no longer fluoresce.
That's the only thing I can think of that will make it go "out".
Over time they dim but they don't usually just go out.

I've gotten an average of about 10 years out of mine.  I just drop some white paint in them and make them regular sights after that.  I think Tritium shelf life is 10 years, or so I remember hearing at one point in time.  I think.

Suppousedly 12 years at 100% and another 12 at 50%. Or at least that's what I read somewhere some time ago.

I cleaned off the front sight and it is still not glowing at all.  I sent an e-mail to Glock and waiting for a response.

As rare as it may sound you may have managed to break the gas tube containing the tritium gas.

I've never seen that myself but I suppose it is possible.

Subject: Dead Glock Brand Night Sight

Mr. Porcher,

Although our records don’t indicate that the night sights were installed here at the factory, if you return the slide to us, we may replace it under warranty.

Best regards,

Did it ever glow?

If so the screw was probably cranked too tight and ruptured the capsule.  That or it was leaking from the start.
