I am 5'11 and 185 lbs and in winter I ccw a G17 with no problems. I am thinking of getting a smaller 9mm for summer.
Question is should I even consider the 19 or just go for a 26? Is there enough difference between my 17 and the 19 or is the 26 the answer for warmer weather? I have not shot either the 19 or 26. I have held a 19 in a shop and know it is smaller but didn't seem much smaller then my 17, never even held a 26 (none in stock since I started considering it), but did hold a 27 which should be close correct? What do you think? |

What do you think? The answer to G19? is usually yes. I'm smaller than you, OP. I don't think you'll have trouble concealing a G19. For concealability, I think there is an appreciable difference between the G17 and the G19. For shootability, at least for me, there is no big difference between the G19 and G17, but there is a difference between the G19 and G26. The G26 would be my last choice of the three. |

I have a 17 19 and 26. I used to EDC the 17 since it is the new fangled Gen 4 but found that was not always comfortable in summer. The 19 was the next option, shoot svery much like the 17 and feels similar in my large paws.
I thought the issue was resolved until I was at the range and a lady and her girl friend had their pink 26. I wasn't a fan of the pink but they wanted to try out my sub 2k so I used their 26. The 26 does have a bit more flip to it and does pull away from the feel of 17/19. It struck me though that the intent of the 26 is very close and personal use while remaining concealed. I don't need to worry as much about the flip when I will need to use it in the space of a few feet. Granted I'm not taking 75 yard shots with it but that was never the purpose of use for it. I got one slapped a XS big dot (Huge golf ball) on it and it is now my EDC when it is hot out and my back up in winter. With the big dot it now becomes your basic point and click interface which is key for the intended use. I am not normally a fan of my pinky finger just floating out in space because of a short grip, however the 26 is blocky enough it doesn't bother me much. I also have a single stack 10 round with grip extension that makes the 26 a lot closer feel to the 19. The last selling point for me on the 26 over the 19 is the fact that it can take any glock 9mm magazines from the 10 rounders all the way to the 33 round funsticks. Owning the 17 19 and the Kel Tec sub 2k in 9mm makes managing magazines a lot easier. Just my personal input. Cheers |
| I recently bought a G23 for concealed carry for summer time in shorts and a t-shirt. I also have a G22, which has been my carry gun for the past 8 months or so. IMO, the 23 is much easier to conceal than the 22. Well, not easier, but I don't have to worry about printing so much with the 23. Now my 22 is just my at home gun and the 23 is strictly for carry. To me the 26 is just too small for my hands. Even with the grip thing added to the bottom of the mag my pinky still hangs all the way off. Just didn't feel comfortable at all. I am 6'0" 175 lbs. I use a thick leather gun belt with a White Hat IWB holster @ about 4-5 o'clock on my right side. |

Very little difference from 17 to 19 If you don't like cc a 17 in the summer, a 19 want make a difference Incompletely disagree. The grip being smaller on the 19 makes it way easier to conceal. I'm 6'0" and 170 and I conceal a 19 perfectly in the summer. |

To my sensibilities, the length of an auto pistol has never been an issue in concealing it. However, the thickness of the pistol makes a big difference to me. In this regard, all glock pistols are the same. I agree about the length, doesn't matter but my G30 is a THICK SOB. Harder to conceal than the 19. It doesn't look like a huge difference but it's enough. Feels like I strapped a 12 oz can to my side. |
