So I recently came across a 2nd Gen 21. I don't need it, or want it really. But I figured that has never stopped me before so I got it. Now I'm thinking of turning it into some kinda long slide beast. Lone Wolf makes a 21L slide, all kinds of barrels and other treats that seem like they would make a pretty neat little gun.
So my questions would be:
What kinda springs would I need to run?
What guide rod would I need?
anything that you guys would recomend?

Pics would be great if you've already done this.

I'll first say that mine was built as an inspiration from COSteve's G21.

My gun started off as a G21SF.      I bought a Lone Wolf 6" slide, a Lone Wolf 6" .45ACP barrel, a KKM Precision 10mm conversion barrel, a 3.5lb connector, and some 10mm mags.     I had a Wolff extra power (24lb) recoil spring and extra power firing pin spring (don't know what weight but it came in the same package as the recoil spring).     I also got a Lone Wolf steel captured guide rod assembly.     I put Meprolight adjustable night sights on the slide.   All of the internal parts from the stock slide were used in the Lone Wolf slide.

I did try it with the stock guide rod/spring for a few mags but it felt weak so I upgraded the springs.   Coupled with the 3.5lb connector, the extra power spring feels pretty much like the stock 5lb trigger.     The only reason I used a 24lb spring is that I already had one; I've read 20lb and 22lb is just fine, but I haven't had any problem with the 24lb spring while shooting .45, 10mm, or .40S&W through it (although the empties from the .40 fall only a couple feet away).     My only misfeed came as a result of the ambi mag release coming loose and the mag coming partially out while firing.    I had just reassembled the receiver when that happened, so I'm not sure if I somehow knocked it off center or what, but I haven't had any problems since.

I also got orange base plates for the 10mm mags to use with the conversion barrel to help keep from accidentally using them with the .45 barrel.

I just put the sights on it a couple weeks back and I'm VERY happy with it.    Now, the pics:

I haven't shot it much on paper yet (and not at all before putting it together).    It's supposed to be nice tomorrow so I'm planning on shooting.    I'll be sure to post results.

I put some rounds downrange yesterday and actually shot the .45 barrel better.    I was kind of disappointed at my groups with the 10mm so far, but I don't have that many rounds on hand to put on the target (have two boxes of doubletap that I don't want to waste trying to get the sights adjusted).    I did notice that that POI was a couple inches lower at 10 yards.      Plus, it was windy and my target was moving around a little bit, so I need to take it to one of the indoor ranges to try it out.

However, the gun functioned 100% with both barrels (60rds of Blazer .45 FMJ and about 20 rounds of PMC and DoubleTap 10mm JHP)
