I've had a G19 for years, and bout 5K rounds through it, and it's never jammed. Love that gun. My Dad has a G26 and it's awesome, too. I liked the size of the G26, perfect for CCW. So, I just picked up a G26. Bought a new pearce pinky grip, and the guy at the gunstore installed it for me. After taking off the slide, I examined it. All looked good w/ lube, and the bore was free of obstructions. Took it to the range today. I had three boxes of ammo: American Eagle, PMC Bronze, and Magtech. All 115gr.

The American Eagle was fine. But when I got to the PMC Bronze, I had a jam during slow deliberate fire. The hump on the bottom of the slide (that pushes the new cartridge into the chamber) had gone over the rim of the cartridge. The rim was pushed down, and the bullet was angled up stopped at the edge of the chamber. I thought maybe it was due to the addition of the pinky grip. I examined the mag, but the floor plate was in place, and everything seemed fine. Still, I switched to my other mag, loaded 10. Shot 5 rapid = OK Then shot 5 slow and deliberate = another jam. Same jam as before. It clearly wasn't the mag. I shot 5 more rapid fire = no problem. Got out my G19, and shot 10 slow and 10 rapid. No jams. Hmmm

Shot Slow and rapid with the box of Magtech, with both magazines. No porblems, no jams.

So, I'm thinking that this may be some teething issues with that gruff double recoil spring or just the PMC Bronze ammo. I did notice that, in both G26 & G19, that the recoil of the American Eagle and Magtech was noticeably stronger than the PMC Bronze.

Thoughts, advice, info?

I want to be able to stake my life on the G26. What Self Defense Ammo should functione well in it? BTW: I also put some Federal Hydra-Shok (only 5 rounds) and Federal HST (only 15 rounds) thorugh the G26 w/ no problems.

when shooting slow for accuracy [i assume thats what you were doing] Did you loosen your grip alittle ?
Sounds like limp wristing + a new gun could be the problem.

Take her back out to the range with some good quality and powered ammo [not the lower powered stuff] and put 100-200 rounds through her and see if that will fix it.

I own 30+ firearms and I think my G25 is the only one never to have had a jam/FTF...

Limp wrist can happen to anyone.

Hmm...  Problem only shows up with PMC Bronze...

I'm thinking it's the ammo and/or the mag.  Does the grip extension only replace the floorplate?  No changes whatsoever to internals?

If the PMC was underpowered, and the floorplate affected the mag spring, then maybe with that ammo/mag combination the gun simply couldn't keep up.

Try this:  Load some PMC into your G19 mags and try it with the 26.

Were you having this issues with PMC Bronze with a particular magazine, perhaps the one that had the extension added to it?

Take either the PMC ammo,or the mag extensions out of the equation, and work back from there.

After reading your OP closer,it sounds like you have nailed down the problem, the PMC ammo!
Now just do not buy or shoot anymore of that type of ammo through your G26,until it is well broken in,and you have a warm fuzzy feeling in the pit of your stomach that your pistol is stone cold reliable!

Put more rounds through it.  Sometimes autopistols (even Glocks) need a break-in period.

I would not be too concerned at this point and I would just shoot it and lube it as per the manual. Give it some time.

Micro Glocks are the most sensitive, locked wrists, locked elbows.

OK, so I took it apart, oiled it up, and checked for problems.  None.  Took it shooting with a variety of ammo, but made sure to keep a very tight grip.  No problems.  So, I tried an experiment.  I held it loosely, deliberately limp wristing, and 3 rounds into the factory mag I got a jam.  I was able to reproduce this by deliberately limp wristing.  When keeping my wrists tight I never had an issue.  So, it was me!!!

That being said, I'm not sure that G26, or micro Glocks, are for me.  But, at least I know more about the micros and that there is nothing wrong with it.

What's interesting is that some are more sensitive then others.

The frame flex of Glock helps dampen felt recoil but makes them more limp-wrist-sensative compared to all-metal guns. Trade-offs always.

Your limp-wristing is a larger problem IMO the G26 helped ID. Practice avoiding it.

The baby Glocks are really made to carry. They're not range blasters. That said, mine (G26 x2 and G27 x2) have been 100%.

My 26 and 30 have been 100% dependable. I too have noticed PMC Ball to shoot "a little soft". Lately I've been shooting a lot of Federal Champion 115 Gr. FMJ Ball, because Wal-Mart has it for $9.47 a box of 50. It has a little more steam behind it. Try lots of different ammo, and shoot whatever feels the hottest. After 300 rounds or so it'll run fine with anything.  Bill T.

They are great carry guns, but I've really started to love mine at the range too.  I still can't believe how much better I shoot it than I do my G17.

You asked about carry ammo and I'm sure there are as many opinions as there are brands, but I really like the 147g HST's.

I have never been able to get one of my Glocks to jam even when I deliberately try the limp wrist technic.  I have a G27 that I love it shoots accurate and always feel good to shoot.  I hope you learn to like your G26 maybe look into the Glock mag extensions they give more area to grip onto that might help with this issue.

shoot it with your off hand or weak hand, whatever term you prefer, until it does not happen at all.  You'll be cured of that.

Well, it wasn't a G26 issue.  It was a me limp-wristing issue.  I video-taped me shooting my G19 during the week, and it's true.  My wrists need some viagra.  Looks like I'm going to have to work on a tighter grip.  While I work on it, I think I will stick w/ my G19.  What do y'all think is fair for a 95%+, only 250 rounds through it?  $385-$395?  I'll give it a shiny scrub down and then post it on the EE w/ some pics.  Thanks again everyone for your help.
