Which one should I get?

12 rds. of 9mm

10 rds. of .45acp

I've heard from a short barreled pistol that the .45 is only effective as a 9mm...

True or False?

the 30 is noticeably thicker, some refer to it as a brick.

The 26 is too small for my hands, the 30 is my daily carry gun.

get the one that fits YOU

for some the G30 is too big; and it is noticibly larger than the G26

note, the G26 is a "subcompact" while the G30 is a "compact" and more along the size of the G19

you can opt for loads that will perform pretty well in both; for example, speer has some short bbl ammo for both calibers and will achieve sufficient vel for consistant expansions

obviously, i went w/ both

The G30 with finger extensions is nearly as big as the G19.

I've got both too, well not exactly.  I've got a G26 and a G29.  The 29 is the same size as the 30 but in 10mm instead of .45.  I love both of them.  Which one fits your hand, you shoot the best and fits in with your carry methods and intended mission will be the one to get.

Had a G-30 for about a year.  Very accurate but just too damned fat to be comfortable.

I still have a G-26.  They are a great combination of size and firepower.

Choose the model that fits you.

I'm a .45ACP fan, but wouldn't hesitate to carry a modern 9mm.
Right now you don't have a favorite, so go with the one that you like... Or better yet, try and fire a few rounds from both and then make the decision.

I'll take this one.

Two barrels of equal length, one with traditional rifling and one with octagonal rifling... All things being equal - The octagonal rifled barrel will result in a higher velocity.

All .45 caliber Glock barrels are octagonal rifled, while the other calibers have hexagonal rifling.

Don't worry about it.
