The NRA Rifleman had decent article on the 45 GAP, Have any of you picked up a G37 yet? If so how do you like it? Do you think the round will stick around for awhile or go away like so many other's.

Well this thread has the possibility to turn ugly

The G37/45GAP seems to be a love-hate type of thing.  The traditionalists hate it but some think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread!  I've held one in my local gun store and it was nice.  Just like the G17 only it felt a little heavier.  I also like the way it looks with the beefier slide and rounded off corners.

I haven't shot one yet but I hope to do so soon.  There is a forum dedicated to the G37 & 45GAP over on GlockTalk.  Head over there and check out what those folks have to say.

My partner is considering getting one (to replace his Ruger P90). One of shops has a "previously owned" G37, with night sights, 3 mags, and a couple of boxes of ammo, for $450. It doesn't appear to have been fired (much), it still has the factory grease in the slide.

If he picks it up, I'll squeeze a few rounds through it and post a range report.

I bought a new one and it is really nice I like it and It is looking like it may become my new carry gun. I cant really give you a range report, just did some Practical shooting with it and was not really looking at precise groups but it was really nice.

What about ammo?  Have you had a hard time finding it?  I know my local store had a G37 in stock but only two boxes of GAP ammo.  That was before Winchester started production.

Personally I think that the 45GAP will become the new predominant LE cartridge as dept's swap for new weapons. Primarily I think that because dept's are always looking for a "new and better" bullet to make up for a lack of accuracy

Training and shot location is key...more ammo and range time would be the better and more economical choice...but hey it's a new toy and I want one!!
