Looking to purchase some night sights for my Glock 17.
Any recommendations? I'm leaning towards the Vickers or XS Big Dot sights.
Would you folks recommend a sight pusher and to do it myself as well?

Carry? HD? Range toy? Woods gun?

The Vickers sights would be good.  I like just about anything but Ameriglo makes the most low profile ones that won't chew up clothes.

The XS sights are absolute garbage unless you're legally blind.

I personally do not like the  XS Big Dot sights AT ALL !!

The front sight is like have a frickkin' balloon on the top of your slide.

That front sight just covers up your target TO much. Now if your looking
for something say .... Point & shoot .... Yeah they will work. But for me
if your looking for really trying to shoot small groups you need to look for something else.

And you know what they say ....

Yeah I've sent a few guns for them to install sights on.
Wanted something different.
Would be nicer to have a bit more visible front sight.

HD mainly. 15-20 yard distances max.

Glocks are easy to change, you don't really need a pusher just a punch and hammer.

I like the Vickers and the Heine Ledge sights.

I wanted Vickers but couldn't figure out which front goes with which rear.

Sights are 100% user preference.... I like Heinie slant pro straight 8 night sights.  They are tall and 2 dot as I am not a fan of 3 dots.

If you like a 3-dot sight picture, try Trijicon HDs, AmeriGlo Pro Operators or TruGlo TFO/TFX.

AmeriGlo I-DOT Pros are great if you like a 2-dot sight.

I like the Vickers sights on my LAV 17. Ttijicon HD's are nice also but I hate the sharp edges on the rear sight.

A heinie slant pro rear with a trijicon HD front makes an awesome setup as well.

Meprolight is what they use from the factory. I had Ameriglo and the front sight was such a small dot that it allowed a lot of play in between the rear dots. I've noticed that the longer the sight radius is the smaller the front dot looks especially on my G40. I kind of wish there was a slightly larger front sight dot or that the rears were slightly closer together for the 34/35/40/41.

You actually need less than that.  The plastic handle of a large screw driver does a perfect no-mar removal and installation job every time.

I'm going to try out the Proctor sights on my 17, it's wearing the i-dot pros right now that I really like. The better I shoot, I'm starting to get away from the big dots.

LOVE the XS Big dot on my 19. Seems to be the way, either love them or hate them...
